What does everyone think about all the rain we have had will it help out our hunting season or make the trees produce so much acorns that the deer won't travel far to get food and does anyone think we will have a bad winter

If we have a bumper acorn crop (and it appears we might), expect hunting to be hard, as food will be available everywhere.

There will be bigger bucks this year because of the extra food but they will be harder to pattern because of the extra food. I'll take it!

One of my farms for whatever reason has very few Oak Trees and the few it does have are clustered together and makes for a KILLER bow spot, but literally the day the last acorn falls there isn't another acorn for miles... and my spot goes to crap. This year, I'm hoping to patern them much easier and for a little longer than normal, assuming the trees are loaded.

Its going to be rough cause I don't hunt on any farms I have to hunt back in the rugged mountains

80% of the standing timber on my place is oak of one variety or another. If we have a bumper acorn crop, every single acre of my place is a feeding area, including the thick bedding areas (which have some standing oaks in them). Getting bucks out of that acorn laden cover--during daylight--is an effort in futility.

I may be in some luck cause I have tons of hogs running around where I hunt so they may help me out some on cleaning the acorns up lol

The only oaks on my relatives farm are going to be cut in 2 weeks...smh this may ruin my season since the gut right across the road has tons of white oaks! The only thing going for me is I have about 40 acres of 12 year clear cut adjacent to me.

Deer should be healthy and have excellent antler growth! Bumper acorn crop makes scouting take a lil longer but the hunting will be Great in the right places!
