I've every day this weekend. I haven't seen the first deer; not even a doe! When it was a little colder during ML season I was seeing deer everyday. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

On Friday I went to a friend's farm. The last time I was there I saw three bucks and a doe. I missed on a long shot with my ML on a really nice ET buck. It was cold that day though. I put a friend of mine overlooking a place where they graze and he didn't see anything either.

Tonight I get settled down around 3:30 or so overlooking a nice draw that I've killed deer before. I was sweating like crazy from the camo!

So where did all of the deer go? Have they turned nocturnal on me or is it just the heat keeping them from moving?

Its pretty much the same thing here. I've not got to hunt a lot because of work but, I've not seen much the last couple weeks. It could be the warm weather and they could be getting a little more nocturnal too.

And yet, some of us had great hunts. Some good bucks killed this week. Much depends on where you hunt, when you hunt and how you hunt.

Thuirsday morning, I saw three bucks, one a mature one that I killed and a doe inside 20-minutes. Others reported seeing heavy chasing.

Certainly warm or hot weather decreases hunting this time of year. But it does not totally shut it down. In Canada, a warm spell kills it completely. Not here.

At 60 something in December, it has been hit and miss all week. I have sat a spot one morning and nothing.. next morning 6 in the span of 2 hours. Next morning... Nothing. Same blind location. Plenty of nighttime movement according to local canines barking all night. Surely, this warmth has slowed things down daytime. Seems to me it's a right place - right time thing.

Yep black panthers have totally taken over my properties and have devestated our herds. Its definatley not the heat that has reduced deer signting down to 0 its the black panthers.
