Does the TWRA have any plans to manage for elk that leave the Great Smoky Mountains National Park?
 
i thought all the smokies elk were on the NC side of the park. oconaluftee and cataloochie. i don't see them being an issue in tennessee.
 
I would think that if an Elk left the park and came into TN it would then come under the TWRA's jurisdiction but until then it would be managed by the GSMNP.
 
Cataloochee is not that far from the TN state line (the park is in both states) and I believe one elk already traveled to Douglas Lake and then came back.

I figured as the herd grows it would expand to both states.

Elk migrate and will be all over the Smoky mountains park one day , at least where there is grazing for them.
