Smith county help

I just moved over to Smith county, does anyone know much about public areas to hunt? I understand no one wants to give up a honey whole, my son and I are just wanting a good direction. Due to his college and my work we just don't get to go much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Good hunting

Go toward Jackson county and go to brooks bend or smith bend road and hunt Cordell hull wma. I've never hunted it but I work with the highway dept and see quite a bit of deer in that area.
