Smell of spring

Do yall know what I mean...after those first few warm days in the late winter, whenever you go outside it starts to have not just a spring feel, but smell. Just makes me look forward to turkey season even more. I don't know if it's the sap starting to move in the trees, or the small plants starting to grow, but something about the air changes once it starts warming up. Not really a smell that can be described. Who knows what I'm talking about?

i hear ya brother! i know exactly what you mean. heck my yard is even starting to turn somewhat green and buds beginning to form on my Bradford pears

Yah bud to bad I'm still smellin fresh split wood and chainsaw smells around my place. but I know the time is comin that it ain't gonna be like that. Cain't wait till I'm gettin wood cut for tha far off future and not the coming days. Gettin tired can you tell?

Yeah the fire wood isn't that reminiscent of spring unless it's a campfire... but dont worry it's just around the corner. I've seen honeysuckle and willow trees budding out new leaves. gotta head into the woods and see if the pawpaw trees are blooming, that's another sure sign. they go very dormant in the winter so blooming means it's spring. And of course the gobbles...I have to get out there soon and listen.

Cold enough to chill you with short sleeves but you know that when he starts gobbling your temps will rise to 104 and all is good!

Spring peepers is what gets me thinking Spring. And Ive heard quite a few for a few days now.

oh yeah the songbirds really do have an effect too, I forgot to mention.

It is nice to wake up and hear birds chirping while u have a cup of coffee!
