Sling Swivel Stud is loose and turns on the forend of rifle stock. What is the best way to secure this? I know some adhesive is most likely needed, but wanted to tap the expertise of someone who has dealt with this before.

Pending on stock material....wood or composite. I now several of my stocks have a threadsert on the inside of the barrel channel like Tikkabuck stated.

If solid wood and no insert, I would suggest drilling the hole out to 3/16" and glue a short piece of hard wood dowel in place, after drying over night, drill the center of the dowel to the required size for the stud threads and reinsert.

Do not over tighten.

If it is the "forend" it likely has a "nut" as mentioned above.

It could be just loose or the nut is turning inside the stock.

1- try tighting the stud if all is well good if not--

2-remove action from stock and see why it won't tighten up might have to place some epoxy or putty around the nut,make sure all is well and the stud and nut dosent come above the barrel channel.

I had that happen on my brand new laminated omega 5 years ago. I used gorilla glue or something similar, rethreaded it, and it hasn't give me any problems since.
