So i have a Simmons 8-Point 3x9x40 on my Knight Muzzleloader. I hunted with this setup all last killed year and killed my biggest buck yet with it. Im shooting 100 grains of Triple 7 powder and 240 grain Knight bullet. I took the gun to sight it in the other day. First shot off to the left just a hair. Second shot, I wait for the smoke to clear while looking through the scope. I wait and i wait. I finally look up and there is no smoke. My scope broke on the second shot. It appears something in the middle of the scope broke. It wont focus. You cant see anything through it. What could have caused this? Will Simmons fix it? It is certainly a manufactor default. Any help will be appreciated.

I've learned my lesson buying Simmons scopes, especially the lower end models. They have broken just like yours has. You would probably be better off saving your money on shipping if you decide send it back and just go out and get a Nikon Prostaff, Buckmaster, Leupold Rifleman or VX-I. Those scopes cost more than the 8-Point, but you will be getting ALOT more scope.

I had an Simmons 8 point 3x9, the power setting dial wouldn't turn. I called them at least a dozen times and never got to talk with anyone so, I sat down and wrote them a letter telling them how I feel about their product. I have an Aetec that I like a lot but I'll tell you this, If customer service is always like it was on that one issue, I'll not buy another Simmons scope.

I have one on a .243 and it's doing fine. Only been on there through one box of shells though at this point. As for Simmons customer service I have a 3 x 10 x 44 that's 15 - 20 years old. Last year when I went to adjust it, the entire piece turned and not just the dial. So I called their customer service dept. and they said send it back and give a brief description of the problem. So I did and got a letter back saying it would be X amount of days before I should expect it back. I though no big deal. Well about 2 or 3 days later my scope was back to me fixed free of charge.

I've had an 8-point on my Knight for probaly 6 or 7 years with no problems. I been meaning to upgrade but I guess I'll wait till this one craps out.
