Silencer

Any .30cal suppressor will work on any smaller caliber weapon if the mount is the same. The .30cal can is sometimes actually better than a dedicated 5.56 can due to larger internal volume to capture gas and muzzle blast. Shift in POI is less with a screw on suppressor vs fast attach via special muzzle brakes. Several manufacturers make top quality suppressors of both varieties. The biggest difference will be how much they weigh and what they cost. Don't assume that the sound reduction will be what you hear in movies. Unless using subsonic ammo you'll still have the 'crack' of a supersonic bullet but minus most or all of the muzzle blast. Subsonic ammo is just plain spooky quiet though. It leaves you with a grin that you can't wipe off.

For a top quality centerfire suppressor be prepared to spend about $750 to $1500, plus $200 for the Tax Stamp(all up front before the BATFE approves the Form 4) and a 2 to 6 month wait(depending on the ATF examiner) for approval. You can not take posession of the suppressor(or any NFA item) until the approved Form 4 comes back to the Class 3 dealer in your state who is holding the suppressor for you.

AAC makes a top notch product. I use to have a silencer for my sub-gun but I sold it. Still have the sub-gun though.
