Range for my MZ is 200yd. I'm not really planning on shooting that far. Got a 4x red dot on it. What range should I sight it in for?

Thanks. That sounds like what I use. 100 gr powder for sure. 150 is max for my gun. You mean that the bullit will drop 6 more inches at 200?

Yep.

Yep, they drop like rocks after about 150 yards. Mine is 2.5 inches up at 100, dead on at 165, and 5 inches low at 200....and that's with a pointed bullet...the 250 Hornady SST.

What is the MOA of the dot? Meaning how much aread does the dot cover at 100 yds. Most are 3 MOA which means it covers 3 in at 100 yds. That makes long range precision shooting with red dot difficult.

I have no idea. That is an important point. I doubt I would shoot that far unless I see the buck of a lifetime that I may never see again.

OK 100 gs powder. 260gr hollow point. Dead on at 50yds. 4" drop at 100yds. That sound about right?
