I have been covered up by turkeys within 15 minutes of getting in my stand the last 3 evenings in a row. I hate the stupid things. I'm about to the point that when the October turkey shotgun hunt opens. that I'm gonna invite everyone I know and everyone they know and maybe even everyone they know to have a huge turkey masacre. One that will out do Ted nugents hog masacre. They are WAY over populated.
 
I can remember seeing the first wild turkey here at the house and thinking wow. Now im like, get off the dang porch! Had one run across the roof the other night. It took me a minute to figure out it wasnt aliens. Seeing several fawns here this year, im hoping the deer make a comeback like the turkey.
 
Must be nice lol they went purty much extinct here in Lawrence county, this year is the first year in 6 years that ive seen poults. I dunno why they will not come back here.
 
If it was possible and legal to trap and transport them, I'd say come on over to Greene county and take all you want. Lol I saw over 100 Tuesday evening and around 50 Wednesday. I want them gone! They were sucking up acorns like a Hoover vacuum cleaner.

I don't understand? As a sportsman who loves to hunt, I am very impressed at the results NWTF has had in restoring wild turkeys in our state.

I can only hope the population continues to grow.
 
I love the fact I get to see turkey on just about every hunt - well except when trying to kill a big tom...

I think it is a good problem to have. Go ahead and take a few out with your bow (if it is legal in your area of course).

Really? I went two years ago and had a blast! But I went for a good time and a good hunt.I knew my odds of killing a good buck were slim.But I did get a glimpse at a monster.I also saw lots of turkeys and deer.
 
Anyplace close to murfreesboro I will come help you with your turkey problems I will bring my girls and let them try to hit them with bow's that would be some good practice. My 5 yr old would love you for ever if she could do that.
 
If you are bow hunting why not SHOOT ONE after all! They ARE LEGAl during bow season!!!! Why wait until the shot gun fall season! Take one now!
 
Pm me if you need help thinning out the birds I'm 30 minutes from Greenville but still if you can get them in range with a bow take one! I lOve to turkey hunt
 
I have the same "problem" I see hundred a day hunting, I always carry a old arrow with a muzzy that's already been through a rib cage. I killed my first 12" tom last bow season.
