I was looking at this Mount today and noticed something like a scaly patch at least that's the best way I could describe it. Close to its eye and circled. I never noticed it before I'm just wondering, is this something that may get worse? Is there anything I can do. I looked at the other eye and it was okay otherwise the mount is still good. Deer was killed in 2015 and I received it back in summer of 2016.

Could be the paint has faded and it was an old scar/rough patch. That's now super visible.
The entire eye looks the paint has faded.

Doesn't look to concerning based on the picture.

That is the right eye and the mount sits just to the left of a window. It is on the North facing side of the house so I don't think UV rays are fading it or anything like that but yes it looks kind of rough around that eye.
