Should've listened and took off work. I think his antlers are plenty big to shoot but definitely not super old.

That's a great deer and looks 4.5+ to me as well, just undersized like many other deer I've seen this year

Date and time are wrong. I compared time of pic of me opening camera. Actual time is 5:30am 10/11/2025

I seen a lot of does this weekend. Found a lot of rubs. He appears to enjoy rubbing dime size trees and ripping them in half. I assume it's gotta be him doing it as two of them are right by cameras only he has showed up on. Also a lot of really high small tree rubs I'm betting are him as well.

How old do you guys think this one is? Not quite as big body frame or antler wise as my target buck but certainly appears more well fed

The second biggest buck I have in there hasn't showed up in a very long time. May be fly food. Which I'm cool with if I'm the lucky one to pick him up 😂

I have some dud camera locations so this weekend I may ground hunt and move cameras. Weather isn't looking that great and I'm getting nervous to over hunt the best spots I have before it gets really good. I have had some crazy stupid luck walking up on mature bucks this time of year.
 
I've been too busy with others' camera censuses to work on my own. I'm itching to get out and move cameras around now that bucks are hitting scrapes. Maybe some time this week.

He looks like a very heavy 4yr old, possibly 5yrs but hard to say without any history.

That's just part of it. I don't hesitate to go midday into really good spots to check or move cams. I've never seen it really make much difference in pressure. Sure deer will smell that I've been through there but it's not often enough or at the right times to make them nervous. When I see deer move off due to pressure is when they get hard spooked by a close encounter with me that makes them run for their lives. Otherwise if it's a spot they're interested in, they'll use it regardless if there's residual human scent or not.

That said, if you're in there so often that your scent is always present and relatively fresh, they'll start avoiding the spot. I liken it to other predators. I see coyotes and bobcats and sometimes even trespassers walking right through or messing with scrapes, but deer don't stop using them. But a deer isn't going to hang out around a coyote or bobcat den. They can tell the difference between transients and residents. So long as you're always transient you won't over pressure them.
