Shotgun Size Question...

Have a Remington 870 express magnum chambered in 2 3/4" - 3" and I'm looking to put a cantilever rifled slug barrel on it. Found a pretty decent priced 3" barrel. My question is can I shoot 2 3/4" slugs through the 3" barrel without issues?

I have an 870 with a hastings barrel and 2 3/4 inch are more accurate than the 3 inch.
