What broadhead were you using?
Rage Xtreme.

What!!! That can't be! We all know, you can hit them anywhere with a Rage and have a massive blood trail and a dead deer within 20 feet.

Glad you fount him. Whurs em pitchers?

IT dont matter what borad head you shoot if you dont hit them where you are supposed to it all ends the same. I shoot the rage because i love the huge holes and the normal huge blood trails but when you make a poor shot like i did it usually dosent end well.

Ok here is the story. I woke up late and had to rush to get to my stand. I try to be there no later than 5.30 that way it gives everything plenty of time to settle down. At about 7 I seen the first deer of the morning it looked like a small spike. It came around the ridge and quickly turned back and left the way he came. At around 8 I became fasinated with a squirrel that was running around the tree tops. I caught a glimps of something out of place behind me,It was a doe. I thought to my self im not going to shoot her so ill wait and see what happens. Then I thought that I better grab my bow just in case. Well out pops two more does behind her. I get to watching the does and I can see them looking back so I know there are probably more deer comming. I turn and look in front of me and a nice 8 pt is at my salt lick. I couldnt get a shot on him due to lazyness and not trimming back some limbs. I keep scanning the area and I spot my buck walking up the same trail I took in to the stand. I have one shooting lane and I know I need to get to full draw before he gets in my only window. Finally he steps into my shooting lane I stopped him and let it fly. I heard the favorite sound of any bowhunter the loud smack of and arrow hititng home. As hes running off I can tell I didnt make a very good shot on him as I see my fletchings sticking out Middle ways down his body. The other buck didnt know any thing had happen and stayed in the area for a good 30 mins. I text my Dad,Brother, and uncle that I had shoot my best deer ever. I shot him at 8.26 and got down to look for blood at 9.30 I found the first speck of blood and I seen it was dark so I Imidently backed out. Me and my brother went back at 12.30 and couldnt find any blood what so ever so at this point we backed out and waited for my dad to get off work so he could help look. We get back at around 4.15 and started our search agin after about an hour my dad hollars Ive got him. I Run over and finally got to put my hands on my Buck.
