Shot my biggest to date!!

Went out today and shot my biggest grass carp to date at 49 lbs. Missed several more due to them being so spooky. Still ended the day with 25 buffs and commons and two grassies. Could have filled the boat with common carp and buffalo, but once we found the grassies, we started "trophy hunting". haha.

Just for reference, this fish was 48" long and had a 28.5" girth. I used the measurements and the weight estimator and the weight was 0.3 of a pound off. I always carry a tape measure with me for gar, and now I can use the measurements for the weight too!

girth squared X length divided by 800.

Nice! I wish we could get into more grassies here. We just don't see that many of them.

Congrats Keith, which lake where you shooting, I wish I could find some grassies, I have witnessed one die at Watts Bar never seen another since ofcourse we shoot in the daytime too

That's a beast! Personally I would love to fight one like that on rod and reel. But I should try bowfishing some day.
