This year we are hunting some hills & i have alwayse hunted level ground & im not sure how much elevation will effect us. most shots will be 200 to 300yds according to the range finder, but elevation probably drops 30' to 40'. we are using 3006 & 308. any info will help.

It will shoot a tad higher either uphill or downhill angle. At that range and elevation drop I wouldn't worry about it shooting at deer size things. PH

a general rule of thumb... don't worry unless you're aiming more than 30 degrees or less than 30 degrees from the horizontal.

At those angles the elevation will be insignificant. The horizontal distance is what you figure, not the height. It may be 200 yards horizontal distance to target but range finder may say total distance is 275 due to hill side. Aim as though it is 200.
