I'm going to check my cameras Saturday for the 1st time in 3 weeks to see what bucks survived hunting season. If it's like normal all of them in my area will carry antlers well down into March. Looking around here before the end of March is not of much use.

Picked up 3 fresh this week by accident. Going out actually looking with the dog every free minute I get from now til turkey season!

Walked about 4 hours this evening in the rain. Picked up 3 freshies and a matching set 120" buck. The set was 800 yards apart through the woods!!

Got pictures of 5 different bucks all still holding both sides on their head.

TNwakeboarder-you are on the big ones man. Ever see that big 12 point again?

That 12 with the split G3 from a couple seasons ago disappeared. One of the biggest bucks I've ever gotten on camera and I have over 100 photos of him. My aunt thinks she saw him hobbling on 3 legs with one really busted and one side of the rack broken off............we did find one of his sheds when he was a 10 pt. still think about that buck just about every day.

Shed from prior year as pics above

I remember this deer now, that's an absolute monster, hate you didn't get a chance at him. I had one a few years ago about that big on my farm and I let him get away from me, he was seen more times than any other buck down there but I never got to pull the trigger on him. Not a day goes by that I don't think about that deer.

Buddy found this off the Moores lane extension in Franklin/cool springs while driving to work. Had broken brow and a broken droptine. Giant!

Is Williamson county loaded with Iowa dirt or something. I thought TN wasn't supposed to have any deer over 130

Went for a quick walk with dad yesterday and he found one side to a 10 we know well within the first 10 minutes of the walk. Should be a good one next year.

Glad I got the jump on the nitwits at a spot Ive hunted for a long time before shed hunting became so popular, kind of how the duck commanders brought many "new" folks to duck hunting here recently Ive been able to find a dozen, Ive focused on shed hunting for 15 years and have a method. It kinda stinks when every Harry and Lloyd around all the sudden attempt to take over an area, walk it so much without letting things get back to normal and undoubtedly hurt the entire area by pushing what deer might still be carrying out to shed elsewhere but, it is what it is, Ive done well so far with being patient and knowing when and where to look.

nice finds, I'd say you have a pretty good idea of what your doing!! I suppose there is a shed in the last pic but my eyes are not picking it up?

No cbhunter, no shed in the last picture just one of many folks I've gotten on cam aimlessly cruising in search of their next find "they know well". I have had a decent year considering...working smart will beat walking yourself to death any day. Good luck to you cbhunter!
