Sharpening Broadhead Blades

I bought a Lansky Deluxe sharpening kit and have been using it to touch up various broadheads I've got in my collection.

I've found I can get Rage, Slick Trick, G5 Striker and Grim Reaper blades hair popping sharp with the Lansky. Anyone sharpen Broadhead blades?

BTW the Grim Reaper blades are hard to do on the Lansky but it can be done. I use a 20 degree angle on Broadhead blades.

I use a Lansky as well and have always had great results with it. I also really like the Spot Hogg Broadhead Sharpener and will have one for next year.

I use a plain Arkansas stone and it gets them shaving sharp. Much sharper than when they are brand new out the package.

Lansky here. I sharpen all my broadhead before shooting. Except, I sharpen to 25 degrees.

Do you guys freehand them or use the vice? My vice won't clamp something that thin.

I use the vice. My clamp will grip them.

I use the supplied clamp as well. The trick is you have to put the blade deep into the clamp for it to grip.

I wrap thin blades in the blue painters tape to give the clamp something to hold onto.
