couldn`t pass on "free" from his PaPa Leonard,,

thinkin about a M8 6X with 42 mm lens or a 2.5-8x36,,I Love the 3-9 Conquest but the lines of this rifle seems to me would suit it better with a Leupold,,

for a Featherweight it is pretty heavy

That sure is a sweet rifle. I had one just like it but the bolt was on the other side. I sold it to MossyGoose when he was looking for a left handed rifle for his daughter. I sure do miss that rifle. MossyGoose has posted some really nice bucks she has killed with it.

he got the 270,a 7MM and a 300 WSM at the same time when he heard they were going to stop makin them,,my younger brother has the 300 and my older brother has the 7MM,,

That's what I did. I bought the 3 WSM calibers available in left hand. Now I have the 7mm and two 300 WSM's. I was going to get another 270 WSM but the price tag was a tad out of my price range....$2800.

About Time I'am the Big Green Camp will forgive Ya.

Just wondering if that one has the "Target Crown" ? Also which recoil pad, Winchester Red or Packmyer Declerator Black?

Reason being after they went to that type or crown and or pad the rifles got a wee bit lighter an balanced, which has me wondering if they changed barrel metal? I prefer the older type barrel myself through as they fell better to me,which my 270-300 have while the 325 has the later and current type. I do know they had some trouble with the early later type barells esp on the WSSM's

Nice gun. I have a featherwieght and they are not super light. Seems like it weighs a ton compared to my kimber.

recoil pad is dark red or brownish lookin,,

That most likely wears the older barrel as well.

You an Mr.Big are correct on them not feeling "light" the newer ones are much better in that dept.
