I have a question for some of you experienced trappers. I started trying to set snares last year following deer season with no luck. My problem is I can find no trails or crossings on this property where coyotes seem to frequent. This piece of land is a couple hundred acres of standing timber (average middle Tennessee ridges and hollows). Although I haven't seen one in person, I have thousands of pictures of coyotes going back to late spring. My question is where in the world do I begin trying to trap these pests? My only thought is maybe setting some in tree tops along an old logging road. I'm planning on using beaver carcasses supplied by a friend as bait.
