Semi auto pistol ?

My friend has a nice ruger p89 he wants to sell me at a decent price , I am just curious what y'all think about leaving them loaded for long periods of time for a home defense weapon ? Will it damage the magazine ?

Mag springs get weak over time.

Constant loading and unloading weakens the springs. However, there's no telling when it's time to replace them until you start noticing feeding issues. The springs may even out last you.

I leave my bedside pistol loaded unless I'm practicing with it. Seven years so far and no issues.

Get two magazines and rotate them every other week and you'll be in business.
