Seed Corn

How much is a 50lb bag of seed corn (field corn) going for in Tennessee? Is is readily available in the seed and feed stores?

the co op will have some round up ready is expensive over 100$. you can get regular seed corn for less. it is getting a little late to plant. if you are going to plant for hunting season you need to get it in the ground asap

Scott I am from Florida and I can plant in July and have it mature late September or early October. I was planning on letting it stand and I may till some strips in the middle and plant wheat, rye, and rape in the middle. What does the non-RR ready cost at the co-op? I have a friend from Tennessee coming down next week and I may have him pick me up a 50lb bag.

oh thought you were in tn. last year i think it was about 150 did not buy any this year. i wouldn't waste money on rr. as long as you roundup a couple of times before planting it is fine. also it is pretty hard to spray roundup once your corn is knee high or more.

I just cant hack those prices.....what are farmers paying for rr corn and soybeans????
