getting to fish there this weekend, should catch several hundred bass and many should be in 4, 5 and maybe 6 lb range. will have pics monday if all goes as planned.

We didn't get any rain or thunderstorms, and I left camera and phone at home. My brother sent me this one from his cell. Fishing was tougher, I was planning on the rain to help, we still caught a few of these and a ton of bass. Largest bass was 6-1/2 lbs and we averaged close to 100 per day.

He caught that one. We all caught a pile of bass and several nice ones. DBLAARCHERY, I do not know where that is. I lost what may have been the biggest one. I had cleaned one of my ambassadeurs and did not set the drag. Had what looked like an 8 or 9 hit a buzzbait. When I set the hook my drag was so loose I thought my reel would backlash. I tightened it and hit it again but threw the buzzbait when it jumped. A secret spot and it is an unbelievable one. Whoever I have taken there say it is some of the best they have ever seen. One of my friends said it was as good as any lake he has fished in Texas or Mexico and he has fished most it not all of the better lakes in Texas and several in Mexico.

At 100 fish per day you could charge a good price for taking people! Course you'd have to keep em blindfolded!

Man, the big ones always get away, and nothing makes a fish bigger than almost getting caught. That's some bad luck forgetting your camera and your phone on the same trip!

Shorefisherman, can you read? I never said several "hundreds" in the 5 lb range. I wrote "We caught a pile of bass and several nice ones". My friend who has fished in Texas and Mexico said (he fished it on a couple of the much better days, raining in August) that it was every bit as good as there. One of the days between us, we each had 20 fish over 5 lbs each. For the most part, our best days there have been 15-20 in the 4-7 lb range between all of us together. We may catch over 100 total bass each in a day pretty easy. Here are a couple of pics from a couple years ago which I believe I posted here. My largest fish there was an 8-15. We never kill any bass there. I have caught so many there I don't even worry about pictures of myself, I take someone on occasion, usually my brother or my dad and do my best to put them on the bass.

in spring

There are one or 2 nice bass in the "secret spot".

Not to big a deal, been fishing it for close to 20 years.

Winchester, you would be welcome. I do not get to go when I want to, it is private, about 20 different lakes and I have to abide by their schedule. I can usually only carry one or 2 people, of coure my dad and brother get first chance.

Oh I understand completely was just razzing you, and going with family especially your Dad is exactly what I would do as well! Enjoy it as these type places are hard to find!

Oh, I am not "tha bomb" in any shape, form, or fashion. Very blessed to have access to that place and a few others.
