Season Extension?

I've heard rumors of the season in the hot CWD zone being extended beyond the end of January. Any possibility of that happening?

Where did you hear that Mike? I've listed to all the meetings and I haven't heard anything like that. However, it was asked about opening the season for Shelby Co. since it's now included in the CMZ.

No reputable source. I think I read it mentioned here on Tndeer???? It was mentioned if not enough samples were had the season might be extended. If Shelby County hasn't been added yet but may be I really don't see the need. You have 2 weeks left with only 1 weekend of hunting. I think I saw the long range forecast next weekend of temps in the teens and I suspect the remaining hunters may balk hunting in weather like that. It would stand to reason that if they also want Shelby County samples they'd have to extend the season.

From the news release of last week's commission meeting, I saw no discussion of an extension. Region 1 would likely know if it is being looked at.
