searching baits?

In a big river, say Tn river in the miles below Pickwick, what would you use to find fish off the banks? Talking bass.

What about a Carolina rig? Going down the old channel edge?

Bass fishing in that stretch this time of year will be current oriented. Find the strongest current and throw a swimbait or crankbait to cover water until you get bit then experiment with other baits if needed.

I'm not much help other than to say I know that stretch well, and it doesn't get bass fished much. So, it's either a hidden gem or there is a reason people don't pay it much attention. This time of year everyone is above the dam on ledges and humps or in the grass if any can be found.

Maybe that's why a bunch of these are there. This was last time I was on that stretch. These came between Savannah and the dam.

Oh there are plenty of those there from Dec - early April or so. But you'd be hard pressed to catch that bag this time of year.
