Does anyone on here have any info about the hunting deer or turkey in that portion of the state? Just got a couple hundred private acres to hunt out there and don't know what to expect, never hunted out there. I got a good handle on how the tags are drawn and all that just wanting some info on possible size, numbers, and anything else. the property is west of Joplin, Missouri about 30 mins. if that helps.

I had a place in Labette County KS several years ago. I don't have any hard numbers for you but I will say that there weren't many trees that you could put a climber on. Lock-on's are the best bet if you want to get in the air. Most of that area is set up in 1 mile squares. With that being said, I had the most success making a groundblinds on wooded fence lines. BuckMerker thank you for the info. The county I will be in is Cherokee. We are planning to ride out there in the next few months and check it out to get a lay of the area. May try to turkey hunt if there are any on the farm. Not sure about the turkey numbers in that area.
