I need some reccomendations for screening cover that will grow 6-10'. This will be on theedge of a plot to hide the exit from the stand. I thought about sorghum or egyptian wheat, but I have an abundance of feral hogs that will destroy sorghum.

I'd prefer a shrub but annuals will work.
 
Phyllostachys pubescens, I just noticed you said 6 to 10 feet tall, the Moso may not work. You may try Indocalamus latifolius.
 
Oh by the way welcome to the site. Im sure someone else will give you an easier Idea. Bamboo is permanent and your location and who owns the property will come into play. My father and I have been experimenting with a screening grove for many years and its alot of fun.
 
I hate to be a smarty pants,. but don't hunt so close to the plot!! You will be much more successful at hunting the area by hunting travel routes leading to and from the plot. Pick stand placement by wind movements.
 
DC007, I agree that wind is important and to get off the plots. But there are times when the best option is to hunt the plots. Specifically when I take my 7 year old daughter hunting or when doing hog control off the plots.

But for the times when I need to exit the stand, I want some cover to screen my exit. Two plots have existing natural vegetation (dog fennel) that I can leave unmowed to provide an exit screen. Two more need something I can plant between the field road that border the field and the stand.
 
For those times ,. i would recommend barking or get a yote howler. When i hunt over my plots for doe harvest,. at the end of the hunt if any deer are in the plot i simply bark like a dog or use a yote howler and they scatter. This gives me a safe exit. Have never had any problem with the deer not coming back either.

BUT,.. i hear kenaf ( not sure on spelling) has been used by others on this forum to make screening cover for plots. I know little about it,.. so i will let others tell you their experience with it.
