Scrapes

Tons of scrapes at my place today. Counted 10 rubs in a 25' square area. Saw probably 8 scrapes .

I made a mock scrape on Wednesday and hung a camera. Here's the first pic I got from the area.
Looks like he's only 2.5 though?

Could be 3 1/2. That's a tough one.

I think he's older than 2.5, horns did not factor into my decision.

That's amazing. Scraping in my area is about two weeks late. Normally, I've got hot scrapes going by Sept. 25. This year, as of Monday Oct 10th, very very few scrapes open.

I usually don't start seeing scrapes until the end of October both here and Ky. I was very surprised to start seeing them already, even taking pics to send to my hunting buddies.

Yall have my impatience really high right now. I haven't been to our place without sitting on the tractor for hours. Haven't even stepped 3 feet in the woods. Headed there tomorrow mid-morning to scout some and finalize mock scrapes in front of cameras. Then hunt a few hours in the evening (out of a saddle for the first time). Then again Sunday morning. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I'll report back on the sign I see.

I found my first ground scrapes around August 12th. the herd has been hitting the licking branch all summer.

What did you use

I just hung one of the scrape drippers. I have 2 more cameras, and 1 more dripoer out there but the cams aren't cellular.

I've learned that when I hang cameras, HUGE bucks show up almost every time. Then they never appear when I'm hunting, but one day that will change. (I hope.)

Scraping had definitely picked up in the last couple of days. Picked up 4 new bucks at scrape on Thursday and Friday. Expect a few more will show up over the weekend with the cool weather.
