Finding some frustration scrapes. No community scrapes with licking branches yet but the should be popping up any day now in my area

Do bucks usually make community scrapes in same locations as last year? After season last year I found like 4 scrapes all within a 10 yard diameter. I gotta stand there this year but havented hunted it yet

That would be a good spot for a black flash camera. They will make scrapes in the same locations year after year. I have 7 locations that I have run cameras over for atleast 5 years in a row. Actually had to move one of them this year because the branch is now dead/rotted due to so much licking and frustratingly fighting the branch - fixing to fall to the ground. I use the remainder of my cameras for the "hot new locations" and they get bounced around a lot. I typically keep a camera in my pack in case I find one of these locations entering or exiting the woods.

I haven't been in the woods in several weeks, but plan to check this weekend and plan to have a few sits finally!
 
There are places that you can find scrapes under the same trees for consecutive years. I like to start my cameras in those locations but may find other scrapes closer to the rut I set them on. In my area it's not likely any scrapes found now are serious rutting scrapes but they may be the start of a hot spot. It sort of seems backwards to me but where I've been hunting I find a bunch more scrapes this early than I do buck rubs.
