Scrape Pictures

I remember back in the day this site used to be littered with people making their own scrapes with their own pee and getting pics of bucks using them. Is this the right time of year to start trying that method out? Anyone been successful doing so and having any pictures to share?

I got a text this morning from a member who had received a text from another member asking if he had a camera hung in a certain location. He said it was in and around good buck sign and setting over a big scrape. It was my camera and set over a nice, big fresh scrape I made, lol. There's also a big signpost rub between the camera and the scrape. It's only been there a week and I probably won't check it for a while but I'm 99.999% sure there will be bucks there.

Right now is THE time to run cameras over scrapes. You'll have another 1-2 weeks before they become sporadic for buck visits IMO

Very true Mike. I should have stipulated that I'm in Middle TN...Depending on what part of the state your hunting it would dictate when would be the best time for you to get activity on scrapes.

Grandslam... Today I went ahead and checked the camera I set out almost a week ago. I set it over a scrape I made with a big signpost rub between the scrape and camera. I had at least 1/2 dozen does checking it out. I had 10 different bucks check it out and a couple of them hit the signpost rub as well. The biggest was a 10 pointer with a few stickers on it. He had about a 22-23 inch spread and decent tines but not a lot of mass. Probably go 125-130". Also had a couple of 100" 8s, a wide long tined 6, and several spikes to 4 pointers. So, to answer your question, yes it's time.

Mind sharing any of the pictures? I was telling a guy here at work about it and he thinks im setting him up by telling him to use his own pee.

I talked to a guy this morning while strolling through the hunting section. He said he has been killing some pretty good bucks and swears by Tinks. I've used plenty of it and it might work and it might not. Anyway, we were talking about scrapes and making mock scrapes. I told him to piss in them and quit using commercial scents. He thought I was crazy. I told him he was crazy if he didn't.
