This afternoon, I was sighting in my bow before heading to work. Narrow strip of woods runs behind our house and I have hopes of killing a deer with a bow in our backyard sometime. Well as I was sighting in my bow I looked about 10 yards away from the target and there was a very fresh rub on a maple sapling. The tree was maybe 2" wide so it's not a huge rub but you could see the tine marks where a buck had just torn it up. Good sign! Maybe if I am actually in our own yard early one morning, I will sit out there with my bow again. I'd love to take any deer from the yard, spike, doe, fawn, buck, just to say I did it, but I guess antlers would be a nice bonus too. Sorry I dont have a pic of the rub, didn't have the camera with me, but it's right in the back yard. Might try and make a mock scrape just for the heck of it...
