Had cameras out in some highly used scrape areas of last year. They have picked up big time this last week.Mostly smaller bucks 2 1/2 and younger. They are working the scrapes around this 95 acre field. I haven't had any big bucks yet on these, One 2 1/2 yr old with around a 17" spread. I really think the older ones haven't got started yet, but I'm sure its going to get on there minds pretty soon!! ;)

Should happen Viper. Each property I camera monitor has turned on big time over the last few weeks. Any property with an early to mid-November rut has big mature bucks working scrapes hard now. I'm also seeing the first "rut range-shifter" bucks appearing on camera over the last week. One property had three new big mature bucks show up in a 24 hour period.

Yep its definitely right around the corner now. Will still be a week or so before we start seeing a big jump in buck activity but were right behind you guys.

I just checked a place out today and it was loaded with big, fresh scrapes. I hung my camera over a couple of the bigger scrapes. I have corn, beans, newly sprouted grass, acorns on the ground galore, a safety zone, a thick security area, bookoos of fresh scrapes, and a stand hanging in a narrow bottleneck right smack dab in the middle of all of it. Can't wait!

Let us know Mike. I had my cameras over scrapes one week and boy have they torn them up. Some bucks necks looked like they were fixing to bust, though I am not seeing many rubs yet. Scrapes galore

I hunted this evening. two young bucks chasing heavily here is Clarksville. amazing sound hearing deer crashing off the hillside. too bad its going to storm tomorrow. ive never seen so many rubs and scrapes. all mature buck pictures are from 0200-0500

This year is no exception for Ames. The scraping has really picked up and I'm beginning to find a lot of them but seldom find any rubs. I don't usually find many of those until later in the season. Seems backwards to me.
