What are your observations in terms of deer movement?

I'm seeing some movement but very little. My food plot is eaten to the ground here in Morgan County and where I hunt in Scott County the deer are just browsing. I'm hunting some travel corridors and thicket edges. Hopefully this heat wave will end soon!

Have not been since opening gun weekend. Just been way to warm to get motivated to go. Am going to try again this weekend if the temps stay down.

I have on a lease on Ridge Road. 1204 acres ending near Tim Hawn Cemetery. Where on R Rd are you hunting?

Pcrc, are you still on that lease on Ridge Road?
Never was, I am hunting property off of Sheepranch Rd and into BSF. Have finally seen some deer this year. Shot an 8pt, but lost him down into the Clear Creek Gorge. I am still sick over it and it has really taken the wind out of my sails between that and the warm temps. Am probably gonna try again when doe opens up.

I guess you didn't happen to see a nice 8pt with a hole in it run by you opening weekend sunday around lunchtime did you.

I hunt just past you Vitreum on the Kline property. I drive a silver Nissan Frontier. I used to talk to a guy named Judd that was on that lease and I showed a guy named Josh that was on it some places to hunt a few years ago.

Are they still hunting there or are you in a new group that's leasing it?

Have you boys done any good?

not saw him, they is a lot of river up and down through there. to cross over. did see some buzzards flying around a few hundred yards down the river from me a few weeks ago

Yep, the same guys with a couple Scott Co. guys.
Guys that L would rather not talk about... :)
Got a Scott Co. sheriff up there too. It's been nicer this year because of a solid legal presence in that field.
Its also been nice that Mark's lease next to us is also getting a good look too.

We are big fans of TWRA and the Scott County Sheriff's Dept....

That field has been a poacher's magnet for years. You can reduce the amount of poaching but you will never eliminate it. I've hunted out there for 17 years and poachers/tresspassers have always been a big problem. There are locals that have someone drop them off and they hunt all over that area. They don't give two craps about TWRA or Scott County Sheriff's Department. Hell, if they are caught they will only get a slap on the wrist if even that.

I used to try to patrol the 177 acres that I hunt vigorously but I realized that I was putting more effort into that than enjoying my time to hunt. I quit worrying about it and started focusing more on hunting and now I have more success and enjoyment!

I hope you all have had a good season. Have any of you killed anyting?

Couple does and maybe 3 small bucks (spikes, no racked bucks) between 6 of us. All deer we have killed have been in that big field. We have no food/acorns behind the gate. No rut sign. Been a very strange year for certain. Stop by and say hi.
There has been a silver nissan CAR parked on us as you come into the lease. We can't seem to catch him. He's there before light and gone by 9am. You've probably passed his car.
We've been taking a truck and blocking the cemetery and the sheriff has been trying to be there by a little after dark.

dec. 1 i pasted on a four point and seen four does, and dec. 8 i past the same four point again. this was at bsf, but i also went to loudon co. and passed on a spike trying to kill a bruiser chasing a hot doe and also had some dogs run a small buck off. i think the rut is over in morgan and fentress counties but it is full swing in loudon co.

At the farm that i killed the big 7 point on right on the edges of tellico village. Its only 18 acres plus i have permission to hunt the farm that connects to it thats probally 30 acres. The downside to it is that its 90% feilds.

Downside? After hunting nothing but thick woods for the past five years I would die for a chance to hunt the edge of a field

My buddy killed a sweet 8 on my farm tonight. I haven't been in at least two weeks. I'm going to try to hunt tomorrow evenin and again Saturday mornin.
