Neighbor shot this, said it scored 156 with 3 inch defections? Its big boy I don't see it that high . What y'all think
 
maybe low 130s not to hurt anyones feelings but no way 150s, especially with 2s that short. Decent main beams, decent inside spread. Still nice deer
 
Me either, I was going mid 140s or lower. The big 8 I shot had tines double as long as it and it scored 136 so I'm thinking the extra 2 points helped get it in 140s.
 
No hard feelings hell I said it wasnt, its funny BC he sent it and he always talks about how their lease only shoots deer 135+ and this is the first one in 5 years. Seems they blow smoke. I just wanted another opinion. Buy I agreed I don't see 150s
 
Even with a 20 inch spread, he would have to gross 136, which divided would be around 68 inch each side. Its not there. Maybe Im wrong. I usually never ever comment on scores.
 
Haha well thanks tickweed it makes me feel like I'm right about what I was thinking. Hell your deer from reel foot was 150s right, it made his look small
 
I got 145" gross giving him the benefit on estimated measurements

23" main beams
18" spread

Good Buck regardless
 
I think mid-140's. I've got one on the wall that looks very similar that was 144, and it looks like the mass is a little better on this one.
 
Well found more info out about this deer. He found it dead in the middle of their lake . Don't know why it died didn't have any bullet hole in it.he sent a pic of it in the lake floating. Sent a trail came pic also. Looked a lot bigger in can pic. He said it was real skinny not meat non ribs. My guess is rut killed him . Such a shame
 
The deer has great mass where the mans left hand is. Is it 148? I don't know but I'm not gonna speculate over a picture. It for sure is bigger than 130 I.m.o
 
ooo! my first post on a score. ive been practicing and getting pretty good, for a girl anyways. some of you seem close but some way off, sorry =) good length and width. i say 20" on spread and 20" on beams, cant see one real good. so thats 60" the brows look even at 5-6 so say 11". the g2s look like brows 11". the g3 looks like 8 so 16" and the g4 look a smidge smaller 7.5 so thats 15". Total so far is 113". now mass is the tricky part. and this deer carries it out pretty good. especially at g2-g3 on left side. bet it may be 5-6" right there. so say he averages 4.5" on first three mass measurements and 4 on fourth. thats 31". the grand total is 144. how did i do?
 
just read whole post and being a sassy girl i gotta put in my "gossip", hope you dont mind. to "bow", "tick" and "deer" and a few others, hope its ok if i call you by your first name =) i know i am not a biologist and all but how can you say 120-130"? that deer look like 105-110" before mass. that would be an average of like 3" of mass to only be 130-135" deer. just sayin'.

to "nick". u said your lease has a 135" rule so why would the guy that shot it be blowin smoke? especially if he aint shot a deer in 5 years. id be tickled for him. this is for sure at least 135" deer. he even said he mis measured and lowered score. seems close to me. whats a few inches anyway, its a right nice animal.

and it all comes together. he was pulling your chain. he ha!guess he pulled it is a b.s. type since he keeps changing the score then how it died. well if he aint shooting any deer in five years then he either just like to watch em or he is waiting on the swamp rabbit to jump up! thats what we call em where i go, swamp rabbits. they got those big muddy swampy feet.

on to the next one boys. follow but dont look too hard.
 
What's funny is his lease dddosnt shoot any thing but 135+ but he sent me a pic of a weird messed up 5 point dude shot this week. Only buck that was killed by them supposedly. And I don't know about him. My other neighbor heard him shoot 3 times one morn text said he shot 2 doe and had a spike and lil 7 out in field. 30 min later sent him a pic of the 7 pt and said I " guess the neighbor thought it was big enough to shoot. Only shots heard from that morn were from him. So idk what to believe
 
Oh. Well we only shoot 120" 8 pt or better but if it 3 or older it can be anything from a spike to a swamp rabbit. I figure if he is sending u all theses pis then he must be half tellin the truth. Heck he told u he just found it and didn't shoot it. Most would lay claim to a buck like that. U not like it cause u do qdma and trying to get him to but u think he is shooting smaller deer than you. I know. We have few people round here that just kill anything to say they shot a buck. Heck I can wrastle a doe round any corner but they don't care to shoot a little doe. Well u do like trigger and hunt your big bucks. He can't shoot all of em.
 
I would have shot that buck assuming it met 135" club standard or that it was close enough that it wouldnt matter.

LMBO at your neighbor for leading you on like he did. Sounds like something that my brother-in-law would do to me. Id find a way to get him back. :grin:
