Scope recommendation for ar 15?

Not sure if I want to go with a red dot or reticle scope on my ar. My main purpose will be coyote hunting and an occasional deer hunt. Leaning more towards the reticle but know a few who swear by the red dot and say they have no problem shooting several hundred yar rds with them.

Any suggestions?
 
I recently got a ar and I put a Nikon p-223 3x9x40 on it. It's setup for the 223 caliber and so far it's doing great. Just a idea for ya ! I also put the m-223 one piece mount on it.

I am about 99% sure this is the one i'm going with.
 
I would like to try several styles before I drop more money. Put a fixed power on mine just for the grandson to deer hunt this season and think it would be fine for most of my hunting
 
Burris XTR II 1.5-8. It's like a red dot but acts like a scope
