scope question

I've been looking at high end scopes and need an explanation on adjustable objective(AO). Can someone explain this in a way that I can understand?

the ao changes the parlex focus to match the yardage so its perfect for every shot,most high powers are set at 100 yards,rimfire at 50 yards,i have several ao scopes & find them useful for target shooting only,its too much trouble adjusting it when the unexspected happens & a deer comes out 50y closer,mike243

I agree strongly with your last post on that Hillbilly Hunter! I will NEVER buy a scope with an A.O for hunting again.
