Scope Mount on Muzzleloader

I had a guy at Bass Pro here in NAS mount and boresight my Nikon on my CVA. No issues at the range, but one concern. To get the proper eye relief, the back ring sits close to the dials/reticle housing on the Omega scope. With a ring resting close to the dials on my scope, could the recoil from the rifle affect the reticles?

Yes! I was having trouble with my Zeiss Conquest in Conetrol Rings. The way the rings were designed, I had to have the same setup as you. The gun was shooting a shotgun pattern at 100 yds. I changed to Talley Lightweights and moved the scope forward.....problem solved.

I haven't had a shotgun pattern, but I'm pretty critical on how a gun shoots. I was able to get 2" groups that started to drift after shooting a while (dirty barrel). I've asked a few what they thought and none seemed to be concerned. Thanks for your post, I hope the mount isn't a major issue.
