I was looking through my Midway book the other night. I saw several brands I have no experience with and some I have never heard of. I am going to do a Rem. 700 30-06 upgrade build and was thinking about the scope to put on it. It will be for hunting purposes and most likely at distances from 0-300 yards at most.

Not talking about the usual name brands (Nikon, Zeiss, Leupold,...) what are some of the other scopes you gun guys use that are fairly budget friendly but are of quality also?

Thanks for the help as always. :D :)

Swift is not bad. I have an older one (10 years old) that I swear is on par with a VX II Leupold in low light.

I bought a new Swift 4-12x40 for my wife's .243 but it hasn't been hunted with so I don't know if it's still that good of a scope. But for the money, it might fit your need.

The Vortex Vipers are on sale at Cameralandny.com

The glass is comparable to the VX3. For the price they are going, they are hard to beat.

Come to think of it, so are the Minox ZA3 scopes. $289. The Minox is comparable to the Zeiss Conquest. They use the exact same glass. I love mine.
