Scope for a 30-06

My father just gave me his pump action Remington model 760 30-06 I need to get a scope for it and he suggested a Simmons. I am unsure what to get but I would like to be able to have something with a good view up to 300 yards. I was thinking leupold. Suggestions?

leupold over simmons hands down. any good quality 3-9x40 will work.

i just put a bushnell banner on my 7400 remington 30-06 pump ,i cant afford those nice leupold scopes and i have always had great customer service fron bushnell ..

For value and quality the next thing i would do would buy a Nikon buckmasters if you didnt want to spend as much as the leupold would cost. for about 220 you can get one and i own two or three now and you cant beat them for the price. I have owned a leupold vxII 3x9x50 and it was special. I passed it on to my oldest son last year.

I like Nikon myself but you need to go to a shop and look at the scopes in your price range and get the one you like they all make pretty good scopes now

Depends on your price range, but can't go wrong with Nikon Buckmasters or new Prostaff for the money.

i bought 2 pentax on sale for 20. a piece as a club member.3x9x50 of sportsman guide. they work very well.
