Schwakers

Tomorrow I am finally able to head north to KY to deer hunt, temps/conditions look great!! I switched to Schwakers....and though many expandables say they hit where your field points do....I put one on to CX arrow and let it go at 40....wow....almost a foot to the right and a bit low....so I shot an arrow with my field point and it center punced the target. So I made a sight adjustment....moved up to 20.....right height, but still a little right....adjusted and went to 40, perfect height and an inch right, so I made one more adjustment.....went back to 60 and center punched the target. I went and played racquetball for 90 minutes. I took a shower, grabbed my bow, went to 40 and centerpunched the target....then I went back to 60 and drilled it again....

I'll promise you, if you're bow is square precise doesn't matter what broadhead you fire shoot all will be the same as your field tip. Being off square just a little causes wind resistance in flight is why you get the difference of arrow placement. I didn't believe it until I had mine squared perfect. I've had good luck with schwakers. I'm one of them guys that love to try new broadheads.

Just in the last 3 or 4 years off the top of my head I've killed deer using.

schwakers,Rage 2 blades, Wasp jackhammers, NAP expandable 3 Blade, NAP blood runners, Grim reaper And Muzzy.

this year I decided to use scwakers again.

last time I hunted with them I sent one through a hog at 30+ yards. Complete pass through, then it buried deep in a dirt bank. I pulled it out sharpened the blades, and it's in my quiver this year.

I am a huge fan of schwackers. They shoot as accurately as my field points, I think it has the most fail proof deployment system of any expandable and they are the toughest mechanical broadhead I've used. shot 3 deer last year with the same head with no more maintenance than cleaning and sharpening... IMO you cant go wrong with them.

I've shot through shoulder plates with them and blades be good as new with only minor nics in the entry chisel wings......there is a thread on here somewhere me reviewing them....they fly same as the field points for me

Best broadhead there is in my opinion. Very accurate, durable and leave massive blood trails. Almost every deer I've shot with them has fell within sight of my treestand.

I have used them with a Barnett Quad 400 Shot well, And killed well :super:

Just bought a pack of 125gr to use this year, comes with practice tip.

I think schwaker made a new "crossbow broadhead" this year if you believe in that stuff. I personally think it's a sells pitch almost all broadheads companies are doing now days.

I used the regular 125gr schwaker broadhead outta a crossbow with no problems.

***Disclaimer*** I have never shot a Swhacker or a Rampage broadhead. I'm just relaying info that was given to me.

I recently returned from a hunt that I was able to have a long conversation about broadheads with the designer of the Swhacker. He stated that if you like the Swhacker, you really need to try the Rampage by Dead Ringer. He designed it also. "Swhacker on steroids". I will be picking up a pack of Rampage's and giving them a try sometime this year.

I really like em too. I bought 2 packs last year at 50% off so I should be good for a while. Mine fly like field points out of my switch back xt at 40 yards.

The fly perfect out to 80 yards, same as field tips. I've been using them exclusively for 4-5 years. The are very durable and do alot of damage!!

I looked at the rampage dead ringers, read A lot of good stuff about them, the reason I didn't try them this year was the was about $10 more or so with out a practice tip.

I paid $25 for a pack of 125gr schwakers with practice tip, seen some at WalMart today for $27

Most web sites/stores were asking $40 for the dead ringers. I'm sure if someone looked on eBay for a while or something they could find some cheaper.
