I am thinking about building a short barreled M4. It will be legal and registered as such. My question is what is the rate of twist that would best be suited for a 10.5" or 11.5" barrel. I plan on shooting heaver bullets 62-75 grain. Have no real need for the rifle but I want to get it while I still can.

9 should work but with the short bbl I would get a 7 to make up for the lack of velocity from the short bbl the 7 would spin them even at low speeds
