Go the email from the letter agency, @tf that I can attach a less than 16" barrel to my rifle. Now I have to do the engraving part. I was reading the requirements and thinking of attempting it myself. They allow engraving and or stamping. Has anyone performed this themselves or would you recommend hiring this out?

I currently have some approved SBRs but waiting to see about the proposed rule change in case I don't need to engrave them.

I usually take them to be engraved but it's a hassle, costs money and is not good for resale.

I think you'd have to do the form again if it has already been approved since now it lists you as the manufacturer.

Hmm, I did a form 1 sbr during the $0 brace forbearance/amnesty period and didn't engrave it, although I have since removed it from the NFA and sold it.
I just SBR'd a Glock for $0, don't really want to melt my name and location into it somewhere.

I'm pretty sure that when you form 1 them it changes you to the "maker" at that point. I have a couple that were just approved that I am going to get engraved, but am going to wait to file on any others until the rule change goes through so I don't have to mess with it.

The Form 1 creates the manufacturer and overrides other\former entities. I used a trophy engraving service, who was very familiar with NFA engraving, for my Form 1 stuff. It pays to reach out and ask questions.
