No I do not have one but a buddy of mine does. He just got it and is having a hard time finding the powered for it.

Just trying to help him out so I thought I would ask yall.

Where do you get the recommended powered for that firearm? What is recommended for it?

In the owners book there is a number to call to order that but if there is a place around here I know he would much rather go there.

Savage 10ml2 camo stock, stainless barrel, .50 cal.

3 shots chronoed 2330 avg fps @ 62 degrees
.575 @ 50 yds 68 gn h4198 300 gn hndy sst

the sighted in 1.2 high @ 50 dead on 165 -2.9 @ 200 yds

wideners.com and mahoneys in East TN has some in stock. I prefer Accurate Arms 5744, its a savage recommended load that is very reliable in harsh hunting conditions.
 
I am shooting cloverleafs with a 250 gr Shockwave, an MMP black sabot, and 65 gr of Reloader 7, which was one of the original recommended powders from Savage way back when. Haven't chronoed, but it shoots 10 inches low at 200 when zeroed at 100.

You're going to be right around 2,300 with that load.

Thanks. From what I have read of others shooting it, I was expecting to be in that ball park.
 
In mine I've tried IMR 4227, IMR SR4759, RL7, H4198, and AA5744. They all work and most any shop that carries reloading supplies should have one or more of the listed powders. Lots of folks use the VV110 and VV120 but I've never tried them as the local shops don't keep it. Just find a good gun shop.

I probably have 1.5 lbs of VV110 left. Even with very conservative loads (39 gr), I was blowing sabots (MMPs) and getting tumbling bullets in warm weather.

Too bad you're not around here. I'm plum out of n110. I want to test it as a starter in the .40.

To date I have run 11 different powders thru the .40 and maybe 10 thru the .50.
