Took this baby out this weekend and got it zeroed at 100 yards. Take 6 shots, the first 3 shot group at this range were actually all touching. Shooting a .65" group at 100, had to move over to the 200 yard range. I zeroed the rifle with the Hornady 140gr ELD-X Match ammo. According to my ballistic app, the adjust for 200 yards was 3 clicks based upon the 1/4" MOA. Had some initial adjustments to make to the bipod, I have the pivoting bipod and the adjustment was to loose. Did experience a problem with the adjust stock(length of pull). It would not stay in place, every shot would cause the length to shorten, and of course this was changing my eye position in relation to the scope. Take the butt plate completed out and applied some light oil to the adjustment release button and reinserted the butt plate. This seems to fix the issue. Cleaned the barrel before shooting at the 200 yard range.
The first 3-shot group at 200 yards was .875". The only issue was again the feel of the stock. This stock is really not setup for the wrap around thumb position, it provides a rest on the right hand side of the stock. From what I've read this is a feature found on many of the competition stock to reduce the possibility of torquing the stock while pulling the trigger. Overall I believe the rifle will continue to improve on accuracy as the barrel breaks in. Need more trigger time to really get comfortable with the stock and the 2 lb trigger pull is very crisp with no takeup or over-travel. Breaks clean and smooth, just have to get use to this light trigger. Cycling of the bolt is very smooth and effortless, and did not experience any problems with chambering a round. I did notice that if you try to lightly cycle the bolt the empty casing will not fully exit the chamber. You really need to cycle the bolt with authority in order for the empty to exit the rifle.
The Vortex Viper FFP scope is something to get use too. I love the clarity of the glass, but the changing of the reticle size is definetly going to take some getting use too. The scope does have the zero stop on the elevation turret, but the windage in self zeroing with a simple pull and twist of the turret. Magnification is clear all the ways across the surface of the glass from low to high power. Being that it was late in the afternoon, the included sunshade was a nice additive.
I am looking forward to adding a suppressor to this rifle, I think it will be a great addition.
Overall this rifle seems to be very accurate for an off the shelf rifle, definetly a good shooter. This stock if very comfortable, but requires a different grip than most are probably use too. Has been a sub MOA rifle from the beginning and is suppose to be a .5" MOA rifle. That's yet to be seen by me at this point, but I will have to keep trying.
