Curious about whether anyone hunts with them regularly. I bought a 300 Savage 99F made in 1954 and it's a very cool old gun. Points like a bird gun when you shoulder it. I will likely be toting it on some nice weather hunts this fall.
I have got a 99EG made in the early 50s in .300 Savage. I will load a few rounds and let my oldest boy carry it some this season if he wants. He has sharp eyes and can see the sights in the woods. They really are classics and do settle in the hands and point well. My son thinks the brass rotor cartridge counter is super cool. Plateau Hunter
I passed by a .358 Winchester Model 99 at a gun show down in Florida a few years back. It was a steal of a price and I have kicked myself several times since. They have a good following.
