The pictures below are of a deer on our farm we've been watching for the last three years. We first got his picture in 2009 when he was a nice young 10 point. We showed his pics to the surrounding hunters and we all agreed to let him walk that year because we believed he was only 2 1/2. Then last year, as a 3 1/2, he messed up his right side and we aggreed to pass him again in hopes his rack would "fix itself" this year. The last pics show that it paid off to let him walk and he is now a 4 1/2 year old 12 point stud!

My first question is...is it actually the same deer in all the pics"
My second is...are we correct in his age assesment?
My last question is...what will he score this year?

That's a tough call...

I agree the first buck looks 2.5, the second looks 3.5 and the third is probably 4.5 (tough angle in the pics, though, on the 3rd buck).

There to me appears to be nothing remotely similar between the racks of the first and second deer. The second and third deer could very well be the same, however.

I'd suppose he'd score solidly in the mid 150's, maybe upper 150's gross. The beams aren't quite as long as I'd hope for, and the brow tines aren' quite as long as I'd hope... but he makes up for it in tine length and multiple tines.
 
Do you have any later pictures of the buck this year, say in October? That just doesn't look like a mature buck to me.

The big racked one looks 3.5 to me. Awesome potential for next year or an awesome kill this year.

By the way, is it just me or does the buck in the first pic look to be 3.5? Looks to me like he is sucking his gut in but looks more like 3 than 2.
 
These are the last two pics I have of him. I haven't checked my cameras for a few weeks but I will on saturday. Maybe I'll have some newer pics.
