I've seen several folks on here gearing up for their first saltwater fishing trip. One of the things that may be needed are some pyramid sinkers in various sizes. If you have priced any recently in the various big store catalogs, you will see that they have gotten pretty pricey. I think they were $4.95 for 4, 3 oz sinkers.

There is a guy from Rutherford Co. that is selling them on ebay. I just bought some that were $10.99 + $5.95 shipping for 5#s of weights. His sizes are 1,1.5,2,2.5, and 3oz, and he allows you to mix any way you want to up to the 5# mark. I got my assortment in this week, and they are great.

So, it you need an assortment to get started, check out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5lb-bag-of-pyra ... 1617894904

If you are fishing heavy surf over sandy bottom, then look into the plow shaped pyramid sinkers. SCN's deal posted above is a killer deal on regular pyramid sinkers!!!

How do you cast 5# of lead on a fly rod? :D

I enjoy my fly rods, but I'm not a purist. I made a few fly rod casts last year, but that was my only saltwater fly experience. I plan on changing that this spring.
