Depends on what you refer to as worth it. To some people, yes it is worth the extra, to others no. This is a personal question that can only be answered by you.

however, is the quality very good on the 85, yes... Will it outlast several generations of normal use, yes..... I would certainly shop around on the internet as you will probably save several hundred dollars by going this route....
 
What caliber are you looking at? I have a 308 and a 300 WSM Sako 85 Finnlight, both great rifles. I've thought about selling the 300 WSM b/c I don't see an elk trip happening in the next few years. I doubt that you could be disappointed in a Sako, fantastic workmanship and quality.

I never thought they were any better than a Rem 700 or Win 70,,but have since learned otherwise,,I have gotten some time with a 75 V in 260 and a 6PPC and can absolutely say that if you have the extra cash that I would highly recommend them,,and the Tikka rifles have the exact same barrels and should shoot really well also.

I highly suggest putting a high quality set of bases and rings on it such as the talley light weights!! The gun is only as solid as the mounts!! Many people buy expensive rifles and optics and then skimp on mounts, which just baffles me??!! Talleys are a great addition to any rifle!!
 
budsgunshop is a good suggestion. They were way cheaper than europtic and others at one time, but have leveled their prices last time I looked and were about the same.

I use the one piece optilock ringmounts, simple and strong but not cheap. There is no inexpensive mounting option for the 85 except for the Leupold ringmounts. The Leupolds are similar to the Sako optilock ringmounts but not as robust, reviews were mixed when last I read up on them.
