Peak breeding occurs at different times across the state, from early and mid November, through mid December, and along the AL border, even early January.

Rattling general works best at the two times that bucks that don't know each other, suddenly encounter each other. That is early September and just before peak breeding.

Agreed. Deer are still setting up a pecking order on their respective areas. Rattling now very well may bring in the "boss" in the area you're hunting.
