I have some hunting land just southeast of Pulaski that I am hunting for the first time this year. Can anyone tell me when the rut begins iin this area? The local GW told me peak is around Thanksgiving but I havent seen any rubs or scrapes yet. I have a ton of does and some bucks on camera and see does everytime I go hunt. I am unsure about the time frame she gave me from what I am seeing in the woods. Please any useful advice or opinion is appreciated.
Thanks

Game warden is spot on, sounds like you are hunting around the Minor Hill area I have a lease there that really picks up the last week of muzzleloader and opening weekend of rifle season. Usually by the first of December it has slowed down. I also have a lease just west of Pulaski of Hwy 64 which seems to work about the same, but I have only been on it a few years so I don't know as much about it.

Opening Day of rifle to the Sunday after Thanksgiving have been my best days. The week before and after that are not bad either.

Yep, what Jarred said.... Always several mature deer killed on into December also. Scrapes and rubs will start showing up in the next couple weeks.

Not really. It will probably happen like a light switch being turned on.. One day nothing, next day rubs and scrapes everywhere. It was like this last season. Not much buck sign, then first week of November it all started strong. If there are bucks in your area you will probably start seeing sign in the next 7 days.

I have seen about 6 scrapes as of last weekend, started getting pics over scrapes three weeks ago. They usually start popping up on my place the second half of October and then really turn on the first week of November.

In southern Lincoln county , I see most if my rut activity the week of thanksgiving , but the last two years have been low activity sightings. I think mainly due to the weather.

Went Friday and found old rubs but no new ones. Saw very little deer movement. Very odd. This is the first year to hunt this property and I've seen this sort of stuff but the rut in Alabama is late January and this typically happens early January. I assume this is normal before they seek and chase. Even the cameras show the lack of movement.

I'm in Lincoln Co. around Boonshill. The week of Thanksgiving is always hot and heavy. The week of Christmas also produces some activity to a lesser extent.
